Cassels Brewing Co

Cassels is a brewery which was built on the rubble of the Christchurch earthquakes.

After discovering the original brewery had fallen over with every piece of brewing equipment damaged beyond repair, this did not stop the father Alistair Cassels, son Zak Cassels and son in-law Joe Shanks from getting back to work.

After 100 intense days with the help of many a tradesman, their structurally sound but broken brewery was reborn to include a bar, café, music venue and restaurant.

Now we have built our commercial brewery at the back of the tannery complex and expanded into keg, bottle and can beer. Over the past three years we have won three major international awards allowing us to expand even further.
